Step 1: Log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal
- Open your web browser and visit the PowerSchool Parent Portal by clicking or copying and pasting the following link: https://rcsdk8.powerschool.com/public/home.html.
- Enter your Username and Password.
- Click the Sign In button.
Step 2: Select Your Student
- If you have more than one student associated with your account, you will see their names listed at the top left of the page.
- Click on the name of the student whose library resource access you want to update.
Note: Please complete a separate form for each student. Please contact the school office for data access if you do not see your other student(s) listed. |
Step 3: Navigate to Library Resource Access
- Once logged in, click the Library Resource Access option in the left navigation menu.
- Click the "New" button below to recommend or restrict a resource or title.
Step 4: Update Library Resource Access
- Update the necessary fields or settings to request a change to the library access:
Form Fields Request to Restrict my student's access to a Library Title/Resource and/or Classroom Library
- Recommended Title/Resource
- Recommended Title/Resource Author
- ISBN/Identifier (if applicable)
- Have you read, viewed, or listened to the entire Title/Resource?
- What specifically do you object to? Please provide details such as page numbers, video timestamps, specific words, etc.:
- What would you like the school to do about the above Title/Resource(s)?
- Restrict Access to Classroom Library (Optional)
- Please provide your student's teacher(s) first and last name. List all applicable teachers:
- Signature and Date
Families requesting to Restrict Access: Once this form is submitted, please allow up to 10 business days for staff to place an alert on your student's library account, indicating that they are not allowed to check out the specified title/resource.
Step 5: Save Changes
- After making the necessary updates, scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click the Submit to apply the changes.
