These assessments are used to promote student growth, progress, and for teachers to adjust instruction to improve achievement.
Standards-aligned assessments (Learning targets on formative assessments match those that will be assessed on summative assessment)
Sufficient Practice (practice aligned to the learning target)
Feedback (timely, specific, aligned to the learning target)
Opportunity to improve learning based on feedback from the teacher
Summative data are used to determine whether students have learned what they were expected to learn.
Students can demonstrate their understanding by applying their knowledge through a varied process or product.
